As reported earlier, Star Wars fans will meet Fanboys on Friday, May 25, when the world’s biggest Star Wars party hosts an exclusive look at select scenes from the upcoming comedy, followed on Saturday by a special panel discussion with the filmmakers.

Kyle Newman, director of the upcoming movie, has a few paragraphs over at collider.com talking about his excitement for C4.

“I have been looking forward to C4 for almost two years – since the last one which I attended – when Fanboys was still a dream. So this is going to be great… going back to share the movie with other true fans of the saga. I remember standing in line at C3 in Indianapolis, telling people about Fanboys. Most of them thought i was crazy — how are you going to pull that off? But we did and we even got to shoot at the Skywalker Ranch.

Lucasfilm has been so generous and supportive since day one. Almost like they let me borrow their sand for my sandbox. So I am honored that they invited Fanboys to be part of Star Wars 30th Anniversary Celebration because this film is one giant love letter to Star Wars and the fan community.

I will be showing some completed scenes from the movie. Stuff that no one else has seen before. It’s going to be a very sizeable chunk. The plan is for all of the main cast to join me on stage -Sam Huntington, Jay Baruchel, Dan Fogler, Kristen Bell… (Marquette will be overseas filming a new project) but Ray Park and Jaime King should also be there to support along with a few surprises. We’re also preparing a hilarious behind the scenes look at the making of Fanboys – from casting to post production. It was simply an amazing experience that we can’t wait to share.”

AIM users overwhelmingly picked Kristen Bell as the person they’d most like to have on their AIM Buddy List, according to a tally of votes on AIM Today. The Veronica Mars star beat Hayden Panettiere, Alyson Hannigan, Alexis Bledel and Rachel Bilson for top honors in the Best TV Buddy contest.

“I’m flattered that my fans would want me on their Buddy Lists,” Bell said. “AIM is my lifeline to friends and family when I’m on the ‘Veronica Mars’ set, since cell phones aren’t allowed during filming.”

Bell plays the title role on Veronica Mars – a show about a smart, fearless college freshman with a knack for private investigation. She has also appeared in several TV shows and films, including the independent film 50 Pills and the sci-fi thriller Pulse, and is currently filming Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Veronica Mars returns to The CW with an all-new episode on Tuesday, May 1, at 9:00pm ET / 8:00pm CT.

Kristen was presented with the AIM Best TV Buddy award on the Veronica Mars set in San Diego, CA. For b-roll footage, log onto http://www.thenewsmarket.com/aol for broadcast-standard video. Registration and video are free to the media.

Star Wars fans will meet Fanboys on Friday, May 25, when the world’s biggest Star Wars party hosts an exclusive look at select scenes from the upcoming comedy, followed on Saturday by a special panel discussion with the filmmakers.

In Fanboys, director Kyle Newman has fashioned an uproarious comedy that follows a group of young friends on a cross-country quest to break into Skywalker Ranch and see Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace before it is released. Fanboys stars Sam Huntington (Superman Returns), Chris Marquette (Joan of Arcadia), Dan Fogler (the upcoming Kung Fu Panda), Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars), Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen (both of the upcoming Knocked Up). Fanboys is a Weinstein Company presentation being released in theaters by MGM.

We’re currently all waiting news on the fate of Veronica Mars, and since Kristen has been out of the spotlight these past few weeks, we’re all eagerly awaiting May 1st – when new epsiodes of Veronica Mars begin airing.

Here is a little blurb (in no way official) from Salt Lake City Weekly.

Return: Oh, relax. This is one of the last times you’ll have to read about Veronica Mars here—ever. Inside TV-biz buzz says that our dear Veronica has already been canceled by The CW, and this Season 3 runoff will culminate in a two-hour series finale on May 22. Well, unless there’s a pressing Search for the Next Pussycat Doll reunion/chlamydia-screening special, then forget about closure. On the upside, this will free star Kristen Bell up for deservedly bigger and better things; she was too good for UPN and definitely above a leftovers network that would cast her aside for far-less-talented hoochies and skanks (Top Models, Pussycat Dolls, One Tree Hillers, take your pick). And, since you’re not watching Veronica Mars on TV, be sure and check out the DVD sets and send me all kinds of “Hey, why did they cancel this great show?” queries later this year, OK?

Way back when in 2002, director Lucky McKee brought the creepy little tale of May. Starring Angela Bettis, May was a tale of loneliness and desperation as May reached out to try and make a friend out of anybody who would listen. The result was a fabulous psychological thriller that left the viewer a bit unnerved and thoroughly creeped by the end.

In 2006, Mckee and Bettis have reunited for the flick Roman, but this time around they’ve switched roles. Directed by Bettis and starring McKee, Roman is another tale of loneliness. This time around we see loneliness and desperation from the male’s point of view with a different result.

McKee plays Roman, a factory worker who is painfully alone. It’s not that he’s not interested in other people or the fairer sex. Quite the opposite actually. Every day Roman returns home from work and watches forlornly out of his window for the arrival of his neighbor (Yay! Kristen Bell). Feigning an excuse to head to the mailbox, Roman places himself daily in close proximity to his neighbor in hopes she might notice him, yet he lacks the social skills to approach her or to even say hello. One day all that changes and she does happen to take notice. Soon Roman is basking in the attention of the lovely girl next door and his hopes begin to grow for something more. Thinking all is well, Roman makes his move until something goes terribly wrong.
