- Originally Jorge Garcia was attached to play Harry Knowles, but scheduling conflicts with _"Lost" (2005)_ caused him to turn down the role. Then, Kevin Smith stepped in and was reportedly very enthusiastic, but some last-minute editing for Clerks 2(2006) forced him to step down.
- The scene with the _"Star Trek" (1966)_ fans in full costume dedicating the Captain William T. Kirk birthplace statue as they confront the Star Wars fans was shot on location in the Town Square Park Plaza of Las Vegas, New Mexico. You can see the historic Plaza Hotel in the background in certain shots.
