Kristen Bell may be best friends with her stylist, Nicole Chavez, but she still possesses an amateur’s delight for the sport of shopping. “My first inkling that I had an opinion about fashion was in the early ’90s when I called my dad out for wearing a cutoff, midriff-baring B.U.M. Equipment sweatshirt,” says the actress with a laugh, admitting that her authority in the field isn’t all that far-reaching. “Rachel Bilson told me her stylist was really interested in meeting me,” Bell explains. “I think she saw pictures and thought, ‘She’s doing it all wrong!’ ” While Bell now has a professional to back her up for big fashion moments, her strong opinions about style are still intact. With that in mind, we asked her to pack a bag of her all-time, can’t-live-without-them must-haves to bring to our shoot. Here, the pieces from her wardrobe that get the most mileage.
Kristen Bell sits perched on a picnic table bench at Griffith Park wearing jean shorts, a pinkish button-down top and cornflower blue Toms espadrilles. The 30-year-old actress, blond hair tied back in a ponytail, watches as her two dogs explore the grass. She occasionally chastises: “Park it, Lola! Eh-eh, Shakey, you know better!”
Bell is surprisingly relaxed considering what’s going on in her life at the moment. Her new movie, You Again, costarring Sigourney Weaver, Jamie Lee Curtis and Betty White, hit theaters Friday. Later this fall she’ll be appearing in Burlesque with Christina Aguilera and Cher. She’s just begun shooting Everybody Loves Whales with Drew Barrymore. On top of all that, she’s the voice of the narrator on Gossip Girl.
But despite her busy work schedule, Bell — who made her name playing a young detective on TV’s Veronica Mars (2004-07) — is casual and talkative. She lets a scheduled one-hour interview spill over into three hours of discussion about image, acting, fashion, values and life.
Kristen Bell and her fabulously awesome You Again co-stars, Jamie Lee Curtis and Betty White take the cover of the October issue of AARP Magazine. All the ladies look sensational in my opinion! Can’t wait to get scans of Kristen.

Last night, Kristen Bell stopped by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to promote You Again. She was her usual funny self and shared stories about her Thanksgiving dinner, her nickname of “Annie” and more. It was a very cute interview!

Entertainment Tonight will post the first behind the scenes footage from Burlesque on Thursday’s show.
Briefly we saw shots of Cher, Christina Aguliera, Julianne Hough and Kristen Bell with her raven hair in costume. Lots of numbers were being filmed and there was an interview with Cher. More will be on Thursday’s show!
